It was in this plane that a good friend, just days away from dying, took flight for a final
view from the sky above New Mexico of the land he so loved.
It was this man who conceived the idea of one last flight for the former pilot, who put
the idea into action, who piloted the plane, and who gave an extraordinary gift to his dying friend.
And it was this man who had the courage to leave his sick-bed and wheelchair behind for
one last glorious flight before death claimed him.
To our friend Lewis Culbreth, who will be sorely missed, for his strength, his compassion, and his love of life, we dedicate this memorial. May we all bless the lives of others as he has blessed ours.
