Zakia is Professor Emeritus, Rochester Institute of Technology and author/coauthor of several books on photography, perception, semiotics and advertising.

The gentleman in this Absolut ad was an important and popular American caricaturist who was well known for his line drawings of celebrities and Broadway performers and for his playful embedding of his daughter's name, Nina, in many of his drawings. In this ad he playfully represents himself signing his name to an Absolut Vodka label. His name is;

A) Albert Hirschfeld

B) S.J.Perelman

C) Scott McCloud

Answer: Albert Hirschfeld is the artist representing himself in the Absolut ad. His original work is in the archives of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.
