From Monterey County Now: Kaleidoscope Mindscape - This week is your last chance to see "Corinne Whitaker: Digital Mindscapes", a must-see exhibit at the Monterey Museum of Art that is on display until Aug. 21. The pieces on display feel like art from a mind released from the limits of the physical world – as if the electricity between the folds of the brain has been captured within a frame. They are psychedelic, layered, chaotic and digital. The artist, 87-year-old Corinne Whitaker, is a pioneer in the digital art world who began exploring art using personal computers as far back as the 1980s. In 1994, she founded the online art journal  Digital Giraffe, the same year in which she visited the Los Angeles County Museum of Art to give what is considered the first lecture on digital art. This is a mind expanding escape into another evoking demension! I have been inspired by her art for years!

I've known the Digital Giraffe's work for awhile. The imagery is always provoking. I see in the Museum of Monterey exhibit the variety of mediums that Corinne Whitaker uses: in addition to flat prints there are small and life-sized 3 D printed sculptures of ceramic and metall. A unique exhibit for MOM. That is simply gorgeous!

The exhibition of your artwork looks stunning. Some of them we are viewing for the first time which were not included in your last publication. Congratulations on your success. Enjoy creating those beautiful images, respite through these trying times for everyone of us.

Although I had seen some of your works before, it really was a thrilling experience to see the brief video and in 3-dimensions. That you can manipulate the computer with such facility and felicity to give form to your ample imagination is really remarkable. Thank you for sharing with us.

The exhibit is superb and the layout is excellent and I am so glad I saw it and as I said I heard (the docent) singing your praise to visitors which was really worth everything. To hear this young woman say how wonderful you are was a pure delight.
